“If you ask just about any non-Christian whether they feel loved by Christians, the answer will almost always be ‘no.’ Even a kid can change that if they choose to obey when God calls them to act.”
Every week, we get to talk to so many of you on the phone, and it’s amazing to us to see the diversity in who our viewers are at Daniel Fusco Ministries and where you all come from! We loved hearing Grace’s story just a few weeks ago…especially because Grace is just 13 years old.
Although she’s been walking with Jesus since age 6 and growing steadily in her faith, Grace wanted to know more about Jesus.
It all started with Grace’s entrepreneurship. Because she prefers to raise her own cash for buying gifts during the Christmas season, she started Gracelets, a small business where she makes earrings and bracelets to sell. She will sometimes spend an entire Saturday working, surrounded by jewelry supplies. And often she’ll turn a movie or TV show on in the background to keep her mind occupied as she strings beads…but recently she felt the Lord inviting her to listen to sermons.
So she started searching the Crossroads Community Church online message library. She felt the prompting of the Lord: “Go find a series by Pastor Daniel.” She was immediately attracted by the series titled “Beautiful,” partly because she loved the flowers around the title, and partly because the idea of inner beauty was something she had been trying to understand better.
As she listened to a message about self control, she was amazed to find that there was so much more to it than she thought. “Pastor Daniel just went crazy on that topic!” she said. “I had no idea you could get an entire sermon out of that one idea!”
She was especially struck by how relevant this message was to every area of her life. For the past several years, she has struggled with anxiety. “I don’t have to get stuck. I don’t have to feel guilty or anxious,” she told us. “I have a choice. I can choose to listen to God when I’m tempted to do those things.”
“I don’t have to get stuck.” Click To TweetBut there’s so much more to this 13-year-old’s life than just learning to make good choices. She is already beginning to see that self control is not just saying “no” to bad choices…it’s also a result of the Holy Spirit bearing fruit in a person’s life. By surrendering her heart and will to the Holy Spirit, Grace is growing in faith and her knowledge of God’s Word (2 Peter 1:3-8).
She’s young – but Grace already desires for this growth to become a way for her to help those around her. She wants to have a clear purpose and mission, to put her faith into action.
She said, “If you ask just about any non-Christian whether they feel loved by Christians, the answer will almost always be ‘no.’ Even a kid can change that if they choose to obey when God calls them to act. I can help and pray for people. Even a kid can have a ministry when they choose to love others. You can always say ‘yes’ to Jesus!”
