“I began to seek out God before I even realized that He was doing a powerful work in my heart and in my life to lead me back to Him.”
When Megan first heard about Jesus, she didn’t know what to make of Him. Her first time encountering the God of the Bible was during a visit to Crossroads Community Church in November 2016 when when she was 23 years old. A friend had invited her to church. “I was a bit hesitant and nervous at first since I hadn’t been since college, and I didn’t fully understand or have a faith-based background,” she said.
Megan hit pause on her spiritual journey (or so she thought) to live abroad for half of 2017. “When I came home, I would occasionally go to service, but didn’t quite have the fire for it yet,” she said.
When 2018 rolled around, she began working very long hours in two different jobs. “I began to seek out God before I even realized that He was doing a powerful work in my heart and in my life to lead me back to Him,” she told us. Megan consistently started attending church in the fall of 2018 and felt her faith growing everyday, truly feeling God surround her in ways she couldn’t even express.
She started a job in September 2018 that completely drained her, stressed her out, and left her feeling worthless. Her work environment was toxic, emotionally abusive and demanding. Her boss treated her unfairly, and he let her go in late December. But when she received the phone call on a Saturday morning, she responded in a way she didn’t expect. She said, “I will never forget how I felt in the midst of a huge shift in my life: peaceful. God was with me in that very moment, taking me out of harm’s way and into a place I felt loved and unquestionably safe.”
Now, Megan feels it’s totally clear that God was protecting her. Things at her last job ended in a way that was hurtful, but now she knows God had her even in that moment. “I felt His love and His desire for me to have more,” she said. Megan has since found work where she is not tolerated, but celebrated.
On February 10, Megan heard one of Pastor Daniel’s messages that strongly resonated with her. “It dawned on me that a step of faith is just that: faithful,” she said. “It will never feel entirely ‘comfortable.’” So that very day, Megan said “yes” to Jesus for the very first time and hasn’t looked back.
“I was so hungry to walk with Jesus and thought to myself, ‘Why not now? What am I waiting for?’ I so badly wanted the life God has planned for me,” Megan said.
Megan’s decision to say yes connected her with us at Daniel Fusco Ministries. We talked about her journey and how she came to say yes. She told us she’s been realizing “God has been doing a work in my life long before I even knew He was.” Now she’s considering serving on a mission trip and in other ministries within Crossroads. “I felt so validated, loved and supported,” she said. “The Crossroads community continues to make my heart soar; how did I ever get so lucky to find these people and be encouraged in my faith in this way? Following Jesus is the best decision I’ve ever made, and I am so full of love and light in a way I cannot comprehend.” Following Jesus is the best decision I’ve ever made, and I am so full of love and light in a way I cannot comprehend.
